Snubbed by the Academy
I really expected history to repeat itself and Emily Blunt would at least get nominated for Best Actress. Instead it just gets a few Technicals.

shareAnd yet, Jeff Bridges got nominated for playing John Wayne's Oscar winning role in True Grit.
shareBlunt was actually a secondary player, the real star of the film was Ben Whishaw.
Did it get a nom for Best Score or Best Special Effects?
What about Lin-Manuel Miranda? (Or for one of the three children, Pixie Davies?) Angela Lansbury, at the tender young age of 98 could get the first "bit part role"Oscar award.,
shareEmily and Lin-Manuel were really what we call "second leads", and belong in supporting categories. Whishaw and his kids were the real stars.
And I'd LOVE to see Angela Lansbury get some awards love! I don't expect it, but I sure would love it. The old gal is unsinkable, if not immortal.
AGREED, then! Ben and the kids, Pixie D. esp., certainly WERE the stars, just like you said!
shareLooks like Lansbury won the BAFTA Lifetime Achievement among many other awards, but strange to say apparently not the SAG.

Angela Lansbury deserves ALL the lifetime achievement awards!
shareSorry. it actually did get Best Song nod
Other than that:
Original score
Production Design
Costume design
Best song for PLACE WHERE LOST THINGS GO...Very good choice.
For me IMAGINE THAT, TRIP A LITTLE LIGHT FANTASTIC or both could also work, maybe also
ROYAL DOULTON MUSIC HALL or LOVELY LONDON SKY.
Nothing memorable about her performance.
