What if it's just a bad show? I'm an awkward white looking (well native and white) girl, and I don't like New Girl.. which could also be called Awkward White Girl lol. I tried and tried but Zooey Deschanel has grown out of her cuteness and it just feels uncomfortable watching someone her age act that way, and her awkwardness seems forced and unrelatable. :S And I just find it repetitive and just doesn't keep my attention enough, even though I watched it for a while.

ANYWAY. I haven't actually watched enough of Insecure to know but it sounds like a general consensus that it's not that great, but the creator is good. That's how I feel about Miranda Sings too... I found they totally changed the character to put it on Netflix. The girl who made it is still talented and funny. But you can tell someone changed it, so maybe that happened here too?

I might give it another chance, because I like to find characters I relate to, and I'm both insecure and awkward, so I may end up being like "this show is about me" too.

I'm some kind of white guy, and I freaking love the show....but I am from the hood and have dated a ton of black girls. Does that disqualify me?
