Trashy Girlfriends rip off

I feel like this show had potential but they completely took away the magic that ABG had and are instead becoming a bootleg Girlfriends. Most of the topics have already been done in Girlfriends like the black men don't date black women discussion and the successful lawyer trying to mentor the ghetto assistant.

I was hoping this would have a fresh perspective but the only thing remotely fresh is the boyfriends storyline about having a degree and working at Best Buy. I'll still watch because I loved girlfriends but I hope they stop recycling storylines soon and find their own stride.

LMAO. Kinda true but they would need actual friends first lol.

This show is nothing like Girlfriends...

Next you'll say any show starring white women is like Sex in the City right? Or is this stupidity only reserved for black shows?

The only similarity I can see between the two shows are Molly being an attorney (which there are plenty African American female attorneys) and the show taking place in LA. The fact that Molly looks like Jill Marie Jones doesn't have much to do with the story lines, so other than that I don't see how this is a knock off.

Yes! Molly looks so much like Jill MMare Jones. Both beautiful women .

TBH Insecure is truly a show about people in L.A. whereas Girlfriends was set in L.A, but you never got a sense of the city at all.

One of my favorite parts of this show is its use of locations.

I thought last night's episode was the best one in the series. I thought it hit all the tonal stuff just right, and was really hard to believe it was directed by the same person who directed most of the other episodes. Now it's showing real potential.

So y'all didn't catch Issa singing the theme to "Girlfriends" in the first episode?
