Just discovering this show, not sure what to make of it yet

I've seen it in passing before and I do find it interesting to the point I usually stop and watch. I see that the IMDB rating is improving so maybe people are catching on to the show. I don't have any background on this show really, so I'm just trying to see the angle. I see some commenters stating it's a comedy. Is it? I know it is created by comedians and I get the little comedic jabs in the dialogue but I don't get a "funny" vibe. I don't bust out laughing when I watch it. I see one commenter compares it to Larry David's show. It is DEFINITELY NOT that for me. "Curb Your Enthusiasm" had me cracking up every episode, it was clearly and unequivocally a comedy.

This show though gives me more the drama vibe. I feel like it's supposed to be leading the audience somewhere or teaching the audience something about this demographic, in which case that's fine, but I just don't know if that's all there is. So far I like it but I don't really "get" the angle yet. Maybe I'm not explaining it right, but does anyone else feel like this? You like the show, but you don't know what it's supposed to be yet?

Does there need to be an 'angle'? To me it's just another charming, relatively funny show about women trying to get their sh!t together. The fact that they're black makes it a breath of fresh air, but I don't think it's trying to be anything other than what it is.

I don't need my sides to be hurting every other minute to enjoy a show. I laughed a lot through the episodes. I love this show!
