My Family and Other Animals?

I'm assuming that this is a TVs series about Gerald Durrells Corfu books. He and his family lived there from 1935 to around 1939. Though in the characters there is no Gerald or Laurence listed.

I was wondering the same thing, they must have decided to base it around his mother which is rather odd.

reply

The children are most definitely there, but I think you are correct about focusing on the mother...

I will take a look at the cast list issues for you.

Could be that the child actors are not listed on IMDb and whoever submitted the cast information just added those cast members that they could find.

They are there now (Larry and Gerry).

If there aren't any skeletons in a man's closet, there's probably a Bertha in his attic.

Great, I hope they include the scorpions and matchbox scene from the book. It's always stuck in my mind.

they appear to have decided to make Mother the central character, and have taken considerable liberties with the original book. admittedly Gerald altered aspects of the real story himself - he omitted any mention of larry's wife for example, or Theodore's wife and daughter. all the same, it does seem to be changing quite a lot.

Gerry is definitely Gerald Durrell. It is good to see his early passion for animals being depicted here by Milo Parker. Gerald Durrell worked with animals all his life I believe. And started the Durrell Conservation Trust in the Channel Islands.

Is that the Durrell Trust that Henry Cavill is involved with?. That's cool to know
