So Much unanswered questions

First of all, I really enjoyed the movie but there are so much unanswered questions, that it makes me so frustrated.

What was all that stuff with electricity and the pain reaction to the water ?
Was the baby evil ?
Was the mother evil ?

And the chickens ?

And I dont know if you noticed but when Elena was in the woods and was seeing the dog, we see an image for a fraction of second. I had a very hard time trying to pause on that image but finally succeeded :)

It was an image of a bloody chicken, in fact the same image of the bloody chicken we see when Elena is in the chicken coop with blood all over her mouth.

So I'm guessing the dog she saw was an expression of the baby inside her and that the baby wanted chicken lol (or blood), thats why she was eating them.

Sorry for my mistakes, english is not my first language.

i hated the movie, couldn't finish it, i think i missed 5 or 10 minutes in the end, any question you have might be answered by the movie the ring, because this seemed to me like a very poor remake.

Wtf are you talking about? This movie was nothing like the ring, not even a little... weird.

reply

i discovered that the ring itself is kind of remake to "the changeling" which can answer questions for both movies, but i found the english ring superior to the changeling

I've just seen the movie during a festival. The director was there to answer questions from the public.
In my opinion, he was himself confused with his own story. lol
There was no hidden message according to him. Gave no explanation. Looks like he didn't know what was the purpose of the movie.

Concerning the dog. He didn't explain its appearance, but said he watched dog scenes from The Omen for his work.

Basically ripped off the Rottweiler scene from the Omen, and the rest of the film from Rosemary's baby

Idea for film: Naomi Watts can't get pregnant with husband Roman Polanski's baby so she hires Noomi Rapace as a nanny slash surrogate. Mia Farrow plays a holistic healer who lives in the woods nearby. The three women bond over their love of nature until they are horrified to learn that Rapace has gone crazy and tried to kill the newborn child. They ultimately forgive her and engage in a lesbian menage a trois but soon after Rapace's character drowns herself in a nearby well. Polanski is so overcome he immediately jumps out a window and dies instantly. Farrow just walks around the woods muttering to herself before disappearing completely. Watts begins to suspect something fishy and soon afterwards finds a videotape dated exactly one year earlier of Rapace, Farrow and Polanski engaged in extreme sex during a "Welcome to the Church of Satan" mixer and cocktail party. After researching the video online Watts learns she is doomed but still tries to escape with the child. However after she stops for a nap at roadside motel she is killed after watching the 6 o'clock news by a dripping wet Rapace with Polanski riding on her shoulders. Rapace and Polanski then take the baby to an illegal sublet in the Dakota building in NYC but by then the church has completely turned their back on the couple and the child because although they have money, "they don't have Church of Satan money." Now left to fend for themselves, when they can't get the kid into a decent preschool (ironically their recommendation request is declined by Farrow who has also moved to Manhattan and is now the head of the most powerful children's advocacy group in the city) they decide to give the child up for adoption before ultimately breaking up and heading back to Europe.
