Maximum Mentle Illness

I figured out what this movie was about pretty early on. It was thematic right at the beginning when they revealed their disdain for electricity. Something was up right there. We'll start with some Light Mental Illness. Weird girl from some city looking to escape her life jumps into the skin of some lady's baby and starts losing her mind real bad. Severe Mental Illness. Lady kills herself, nice enough to the baby, baby survives and here comes Daddy comin' down with some, you guessed it: Extreme Mental Illness. Forget about mommy's wizard pal he's just some mentally ill guy. Dad hears things no one else can and starts feeling all kinds of violent tendencies towards that baby. Lands an axe in his leg, kidnaps the baby, and mom just says "Enough with this Mental Illness Business" and slams her husband's mentally ill head into pulp with the car door. Now it's just baby, mommy, and some weird tall man from baby's POV. Maximum Mental Illness!!!

Makes as much sense as all the other explanations, and without all the overthought analysis.

The film has nothing to do with Mental Illness. It's all about surrogacy. The director was shocked about it when he arrived in Europe and decided to make a film (horror of course) to criticize it.
