I want to love this show but the major thing holding it back is Maggie Gyllenhaal's horrific face and flap jack boobies. She has to be the ugliest actress working today in major TV/Movies. Every time she's on screen I want to barf. Get her off my TV!

shareI believe she's also part producer so she's invested in the show herself beyond acting. But really who cares what she looks like? She's a great actress and she kills this roll. Personally, I think she's decent looking and I appreciate that she isn't a 10, I much rather have a great actor who looks average over someone who is stunning but can't act for shit, which seems to be the majority of younger hollywood these days.

You should feel lucky you didn't get past the first couple episodes if you couldn't bear Maggie Gyllenhaal. There are far nastier looking hoes in this series than her.
I think this show really goes for the 70s realism, warts and all. Apologies to anyone who lived through that era and liked the styles, but as someone who didn't I find the fashions of the time to be incredibly cheesy looking. Some of the female hairstyles make some women look really unattractive. Like parting their hair down the middle like that?!?
Even though Maggie's a primary character, she's not the eye candy of the series. She's supposed to play the older run down prostitute who seeks a better life capitalizing on the burgeoning sex industry behind the camera because she's actually got a brain and ambition.

shareI know a lot of ppl find Claire Danes attractive and to each their own. Years ago I think I saw her in The Rainmaker and in a certain scene she was crying while recovering in a hospital. If I recall, she asks the protagonist for a kleanex to wipe her tears but I thought she just as easily could have asked for toilet paper to wipe her ass.
