The Wire and The Sopranos
This show looks like they took most of the actors from The Wire and The Sopranos and made a series. Not the heavies from both show, but the secondary ones at least.

shareI don't see it, there's one Sopranos actor (Rispoli, first 3-4 episodes in 1999) in a show that is filmed by the same channel in NY(!) -> eastcoast.
David Simon is known for using actors he has worked with before.
It didn't bother me when he relied on many The Corner actors for bigger roles in The Wire.
It didn't bother me when he casted Clark Peters & Wendell Pierce for Treme - & Corner's Khandi Alexander btw.
James Ransone & Anwan Glover had guest stints on pretty much every Simon project.
I don't remember anyone that was miscast. So I'm happy to see Wires Chris Bauer, Lawrence Gilliard & Gbenna Akinnagbe, Tremes Chris Coy as well as Show Me A Hero's Dom Fishback & Natalie Paul on this show. (& apparently Method Man and Black Thought!)
I thought you were going to say “why can’t HBO make good shows like The Wire and The Sopranos anymore?” Because this east coast Boogie Nights ain’t anywhere near their league.
