I was floored by the season finale, but in retrospect, it was forking obvious that this wasn't the real good place.
From Michael kicking that little dog into the sun, to 'Real' Eleanor being so nauseatingly perfect, it's obvious in retrospect that things weren't what they seemed.
I know! I was waiting for everything to make sense. And it was all so ridiculous. I was hoping it would come together and it like... anti came together. If that makes sense.
Funny thing is I'm rewatching this with a friend to see if she can guess the twist & so far her theories are- they're robots, or this is all a dream & it's not real. So I'm curious to see what her reaction is!
But yes, on rewatch it makes so much sense. Tahani was a red flag for sure. Turns out Eleanor was right about her fake niceness, which Chidi chastised her for. And I like Chidi but he had obvious flaws too. He would rather make himself feel better & confess his feelings then consider someone else's- aka the guy with the red cowboy boots. Plus for the first few episodes he totally judges Eleanor for not being good, which a truly good person wouldn't do.
Plus the whole 2 misake thing was weird, and so was real & fake Eleanor... too many mistakes.
-Who is it? -It's Grandpa. And it sounds like he's gotten into the horseradish again.
I figured there had be some twist involved if they wanted to go past 1 season. I didn't guess that this was a bad place angle though. I am curious if they will show the actual good place next season.
Don't forget the way they handled the appearance of real Eleanor. Trevor was about to leave on the train but didn't produce her until after Michael stopped the train. Trevor said he'd hang onto real Eleanor until he got fake Eleanor, but he then left her behind.
