Am I the only one who sometimes sees an older Sam Malone?

Sometimes, I just think the Michael character reminds me of an older Sam Malone.
It's like a future "Cheers" episode or something.

Frankly, I've never seen Ted Danson in much of anything other than "Cheers."
Am I the only one who sees it?

Ted Danson plays a version of the same character in everything.

I really like his portrayal in this. I see it as pretty different from Sam Malone. Michael seems pretty anxious and flustered most of the time, whereas Sam rarely was either of those.
