I signed, but we shouldn't get our hopes up IMO. The boards may not be generating revenue-adding traffic levels. If that's the basis for the decision, it won't make any difference how much users want them.

I know why they are considering it. This site is OK, but some sites are infested with parasites that use them as their personal mailbox and overload IMDB's servers with junk that have nothing to do with the show or movie in question. (Look at the Game of Throness site to see what I'm talking about).
I wish IMDB would consider a better-regulated site rather than shutting it down altogether.
