Star is the most annoying and least attractive of the three girls. I have no idea why the Alexandra girl would put up with this nonsense and not just find two other girls who could sing. The show is exploitive, trashy, and full of cliches galore. Tried to give it a shot, but...

shareSeems pretty good. I agree with you on Star. I'm not sure I would have chosen her as the main character. I do hope they develop the little sister to have a bit more spunk. Also, since Alexandria came up with the group, I would think she would lead it...that's disappointing.
shareThey had a nationwide search for the leads. The girl who plays Star is married to a big music producer. She actually wrote "Work From Home" by Fifth Harmony. That songwriting experience might prove useful. I wonder if she helps write the songs too.

I tuned out about 10 minutes in. If it makes it past mid-season which it probably will while empire is on hiatus, I can see Lee & Company doing a crossover between Empire and Star.
But the storyline started out really dumb to me. Star goes to her worker and begs to know where her sister is and then they track down the god mother. And then they meet up with the young woman who's going to be their agent based on a youtube audition? What universe do they all live in?
I agree... + Terrible script and awfully bad acting. The music was dreadful too..I doubt there will be a Season 2. > Cant compete with Empire..

I wish these girls have a future in the music business, but the pilot was a cliché soap opera.
I think the type of shows like Empire and Star are far more better than the lame, crappy shows like Glee, Scream Queens, and Grandfathered. I'm actually glad Grandfathered got cancelled. It was really bad in content.
