Is Miguel Christine's real brother?

Didn't catch anything on there being a mention of adoption or step-mom/dad?

I would have to watch the movie again but I assumed he was adopted.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see and if you have any thoughts or criticisms, i'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. Review is right here- https://youtu.be/VG9oZ4p6dDc

Yea... after all he screamed at her for being racist about his background

I appreciated that the movie did not delve into it, as to do so would have been needless exposition unrelated to the plot. Their relationship is more important than blood ties. He was likely adopted or a child from one of the parent's previous marriages, but it didn't really matter. The scene with the dad wishing him good luck on his interview was melancholic yet profoundly touching, just like many other moments in the film.

The movie as a whole didn't quite connect with me as much as it did with critics and other fans, but I agree, that was a particularly nice scene and felt very genuine. And good point about them not going into long, needless exposition (which a lesser film would've likely done).

Agreed re the employment scene. Very unexpected -- surreal, even -- yet made believable.
The father was one of the film's best characters.

Adopted.... Her mother found it difficult to conceive... She was surprised when she got pregnant with Christine "Lady Bird" and thought of it as a 'miracle' as she called it in her letter...
