Biggest gap between critics and audience perception

the rotten tomatoe scores for the franchise are quite interesting:

as to jurassic park, the lost world and jurassic world, critic score and audience score are pretty similar.
the two exceptions are jurassic park III and fallen kingdom. both (currently) have the same "rotten" critics score of 50%. while the audience of jp III hated the movie even more (only 36%), the opposite is the case with fallen kingdom, where the audience score is at 63%.

Your first problem is taking anything written on rotten tomaties as useful.

The opinions of others can be useful at times, and RT catalogues thousands of them.

The opinions of others can be useful, but going to RT to see opinions about a movie is like asking a bum on a street about the countrys economy. It will have an opinion, but it most likely is a shit one.

All RT does is act as a repository for critic and audience reviews for any given movie, assigning a score based upon how many of those reviews are positive and how many are negative.

That's it's only function, to act as a "review library," essentially. Sounds useful to me.

i said "interesting", not "useful". and as you can see, since my post from 6 months ago, the rt scores have changed anyway.

JPIII is a film that I started out disliking but over time it grew on me. It's certainly not a great film, and it's nothing compared to the original Jurassic Park, but if you just watch it as a Saturday matinee adventure film then it's fairly satisfying.

It also has an interesting backstory in terms of the making of the film.

In short, it deserves better than that 36%. I enjoy it more than The Lost World and Fallen Kingdom.
