Well, here we go again, Season 2 (2016)
And again it's the rookie against seasoned hard core criminals doing what they do best.
Having a little insight into what it's like for the correctional officers, since my neighbor is one and has been for the past ten years. I've gleaned from them that the sixteen hour days are common because they just don't have the staffing to afford a regular eight hour shift. The interior of their prison is filthy due to inmates constantly flooding their cells, or trashing them. So, burn out, fatigue, complacency, inmate/officer dealings are ongoing throughout the New Mexico Prison system. The pay isn't that great, and a reason a lot feel it's not worth the risks involved. The turnover is extremely high and the only people they focus on enlisting are young folks that are naive. The young recruits end up scared to death or have an ego trip and become overly dominant. Either way they don't last long.
