Seriously ... can you imagine having to go into that environment every day just to pay for living expenses ... we know the pay isn't great. Unarmed and a sitting duck; what a dreadful career. At least police and military are armed to defend themselves.

If you want to know how bad things can get, read "The Devil's Butcher Shop" ... it's about the 1980 NM prison riot. While the show has touched on the riot briefly, the book provides the horrific details.


Jobs like this make me appreciate those who do it voluntarily and reminds me of being in school as a kid, hoping someone volunteered to answer a question to avoid her looking around and picking someone to answer it. Imagine if no one volunteered for certain jobs and it became a mandatory civic duty.
