Male guards + Female guards

Anyone else think there should be only male guards in male prisons and female guards in female prisons?
That is the logical answer to get rid of both the male guards who take advantage of their position in women's facilities, as well as the 5' 90lb female guards being sexually harassed or assaulted on a pod where she is the only guard there. That is just asking for trouble.....in both instances. I'm a pretty strong woman and have been doing Muay Thai for 6 YRS and feel pretty confident that I can defend myself 90% of the time. However if I were to walk onto a pod full of huge criminals/gang members yelling out disgusting things, as the gates close behind me, and all I have is a freaking pepper spray, I'm pretty sure I would piss my pants. I wonder what the stats are for female guard sex assaults.

TOTALLY AGREE. Every time I watch any prison show I ask myself the exact same thing. But I assume it's a human rights/discrimination issue or whatever. I don't think there's very many jobs nowadays that can be gender specific, besides major league sports, and even then I don't think there's actually rules stating women can't play.

It just seems like such a pointless job for some women. Especially that one little tiny one. What criminal is EVER going to respect her?? I can't imagine this is the ONLY job she could find. If she ever finds herself in a riot or something like that I can't imagine the things that would happen to her :(
