Since the movie was nominated for Best Picture, and usually I like to see all the BP nominations, I wanted to see this movie. However, I am not interested in the subject at all, and movies like this ALWAYS bore me. Should I see it?
shareIt is not going to teach you anything about the space program other than there was one. Don't see it unless NASA topics interest you; then read the book after you watch the movie so you can see what they screwed up.
On the other hand if race relations interest you at all, you might enjoy it. The movie and the book are more about how whites and blacks got along; both addressed the space program to a lessor degree.
Actually it does teach to that getting 'good jobs' in that era required jumping through hoops....and what those hoops were.
shareI thought this one would bore me too, but it made me laugh. It made me happy. From the trailers, I thought it was gonna be a bunch of women moving their hips saying "We work at NASA!"But it was more than that. I was thoroughly impressed by it. It's always so crazy to think our country was so full of this kind of ridiculous segregation and hostility towards black people. It almost seems to allude that segregation and Jim Crow laws was keeping us from catching up in the space race.

Yes because this movie is more than what NASA does, it is a testament to the many untold stories out there that could influence the potential of young minds and tells them to not settle for less, that they matter. And always be hungry for more. It is a good highlight of how important a role woman play in this world, especially when it comes to science.
shareIt shows a lot of their personal and family lives. When i saw the Trailer, I said this looks good. And It was. Funny too. It is somewhat formulaic, but it moves quickly.

Yes I would. Honestly I had low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. It was funny and I felt like cheering for the three women.
But I was uncomfortable when they showed "Colored Only" facilities. That is a bad memory.

I'd reccomend it. I was not very interested in the subject, but I found this very enjoyable . I can't say it moved me or amazed me, but I'd say it got me engaged in the story and the characters and was very nice to watch.
