Obviously the cash he counted was inked. Would that not be a red flag?

He only accepted the money that had red paint on the edges and no obvious stains.
shareI don't understand why the bondsman wouldn't return the money even though he hadn't bailed anyone out yet, unless it's supposed to be a "what are you going to do about it?" move since it was obvious where the money came from. Even then, stealing $15k from someone crazy enough to rob a bank seems like a bold move.
shareThat's how I took it, though bondsmen do charge a percentage. That might've been the part in his safe. They didn't mention how much he kept.
Funny how the bondsman seemed the only person Connie couldn't one-up, rush or intimidate.
I liked the name "Connie," too. Con-man.

And why would he have kept the money instead of returning it?
That would have been stealing stolen money.
Bondsmen in movies are usually sleazy or not legit.
I doubt they are like that IRL otherwise they would be arrested and put out of business.
