Because it says Stan Lee does anyone know if this is based on an existing comic book or if it's an entirely new idea?
No, it is an entirely new story written by comic book legend Stan Lee for the TV show.
In interviews about the show Stan Lee has repeatedly stated that he has had a lifelong fascination with the idea of luck and in particular the idea that if something lucky happens to one person, does that mean something unlucky has to happen to someone else. He envisioned this show to share that fascination with the world.
