Reasons Why this is good show..

The juxtaposition of the bracelet, which is obviously a very 'comic book' idea is wonderfully offset against a live action mystery-cop-drama set in a gritty London backdrop with murders and non-Hollywood actors (no polished white teeth and square jaws) all with solid acting and a lovely diverse ensemble of characters (The police members are very believable - not all rough and ready action hero men for once, the Indian policewoman is superb casting)

Considering the bracelet is superglued on the main guy - it is actually mentioned very little - his luck and the mystery surrounding it appears incrementally and is really well done. As the focus of each episode is around chasing bad guys and piecing together the underlying threads - and slowly showing how everything going on is linked keeps everything grounded and away from the spooky aspect - we are learning along with the lead. There are also many characters that are completely unaware of the bracelet and its power, which keeps one foot in the 'real' world. As if, it could all be coincidence and Harry is just a gambling addict that in his mind is feeling very lucky or on a streak. Nothing has happened that is truly magical.. just a series of highly improbable events.

Personally, I think the pacing is fantastic and the supernatural element of it is so cleverly underplayed that it could just be a regular cop show, and when the twisted luck element is played into the story, it really ups the interest.

Personally, I'm loving this and really look forward to each week more than any other show I've seen recently.

This is on in the UK at the moment, but obviously Stan Lee is American.. can anyone tell me if this is playing in the US at the moment?
