What is Anna?
(We seem just to be up through Episode 3 here in British Columbia.)
When we first see Harry's ex, Anna, she's wearing a wig and arguing in court before a jury, seemingly in a criminal case. She later shows up as somebody's solicitor (to be present in his interrogation) and it appears that she works with a firm of solicitors.
Here in Canada, most lawyers (outside of Quebec--I don't know the situation there, but that legal system is somewhat different) style themselves Barristers and Solicitors, but this isn't the case in Britain, where solicitors meet with clients and prepare briefs for the barristers, who argue the cases in court. We North Americans should at least be familiar with this system from myriad British films and shows, from Brothers in Law (1957) to Rumpole of the Bailey (1978) to A Fish Called Wanda (1988) to Silk (2011). (My wife and I had a great walking tour of the Inns of Court when were were in London a few years ago.)
I understand that the rules have been relaxed a bit lately, and that solicitors are allowed to appear in court in some circumstances. Is this presumably the case with Anna? It's difficult to believe that, Stan Lee or no Stan Lee, the Brits involved with the show would let an anomaly this big slide by.
