After ep 7 then Peeters seems like an incompetent detective.

Examples:

1) When he went to the Malpausas? house to investigate the gunshot he didn't ask who else was there at the party with the fireworks, or where the fireworks were set off.
That would have saved him a lot of time.

2) He drags everyone in the village into the police station but doesn't ask what they were doing on the 14th or show them the mysterious sign?
Why not?

3) He doesn't wait for backup when anyone would do when the guy was at the near of the cliff with no escape route.
Doh!

4) He never asks Driss's brother on Skype whether Driss was sending money home or not.
That would have helped, I think.

5) As usual in most police dramas then he only takes advantage of technology when it suits the plot, since the police could easily track the whereabouts of various important mobile phones whenever they wanted to. But don't.

Finally, has it never occurred to him that this might be all about the damned Dam?

This is basic, fundamental policework, and I'm losing patience with this since even a bonehead like me would have done a better job than he has so far.
Has he never watched any decent detectives at work, even on TV???
