Why on earth did Rebecca start brushing martins hair while he was eating a sandwich?? Just seemed weird and out of place

Just watched this for the first time last night and thought the same thing! It seemed so out of place and random to try and groom him as soon as he started eating. Maybe it was just added to further support the idea of her possibly becoming his guardian, but of course having to no experience with children... or commitment at all for that matter. Either way it made me laugh!

He had just taken a shower or a bath from the looks of his hair.

Not really, my kids don't like getting their hair brushed but if they're distracted by food or the TV they don't complain
