Deleted scenes: THIRTEEN minutes of footage

BBFC classified the Lights Out deleted scenes and their run time is 13 minutes.

Now, this film only runs for about 76 minutes without credits. I know editing is all about cutting the excess and the pace, but as much as I loved this movie, it was way too fast-paced. I haven't seen the cut scenes yet, but I feel like 13 extra minutes really could've helped the film just pack a little more of a punch. That brings its run time up to 88 minutes, about 92 with credits.

According to David Sandberg, there was an additional showdown with Diana that was the original ending for the film. Everyone goes home thinking Sophie's suicide solved everything, but it didn't. It was cut because test audiences hated it. I'll be damned if that isn't one of those deleted scenes. I'm excited to see.

you know what? for once I was happy that a horror movie ended like this. Sophie's suicide solved everything and no more Diana. I am a bit tired of horror movies where you think everything is ok after the ordeal the protagonists have been through, only to find out at the last scene that the ghost/entity/monster is still lurking.

Depends on how they do it though. If they did it like The Ring, then that's just killer! If they do it like another one where it's laying dead and you see it open its eyes right before the credits appear, that's just tired. When The Ring did it, it was fresh though... back in 2003.

Just bought and watch Lights Out...I enjoyed it, thought it was a pretty damn good horror movie...

I watched The Deleted scenes and Original Ending like you mentioned in your post, I must say, they made the right choice, I like The Theatrical Ending much Better

with that being said, I do wish the film was a little longer, an extra 15 minutes would have been nice...

But I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel

I loved seeing the deleted footage that included the alternate ending. I don't think that ending would have worked put together with the actual film so I think they made a good decision to cut it.

I was expecting the same old gotcha ending, so when I didn't see it, I was pleasantly surprised. In a way, it reminded me of older horror movies
