What was the look Daniel gave at the end mean when the kid said it all started with the word?

I was pretty sure they were going to assassinate him to take revenge. Good thing it did not happen

It's because of the Hitler quote with the 'words as bridges' metaphor they showed at the beginning of the film. What he said was a reference to that.

Yeah I think you have the right idea, but I think it's more complicated...I think the complexity is that he is still referencing Hitler, so it leaves room for doubt about his true feelings...which is why I think Nate's smile fades towards the end of the shot.
