Fraudelant Voting makes Newspaper headlines

The UK Newspaper 'The Independent' is reporting on the fraudelant voting, and 55,000 1 star ratings from just 3 showings, on the imdb website.

Good to see that this fake voting is finally getting recognition! Shame imdb will not acknowledge this yet, and certainly not the previous releases that have been voted down without people actually viewing it.

It's good to see that the newspapers got the story.

But IMDB is not the problem.
They just provide a service, nothing more.

Shame on the organized, state-supported Turkish down-voters.

I agree imdb isn't the problem, but since they are providing a service thay should monitor it. For example if someone rates a film from a country where it hasn't been released, surely this rating should immediately be vetoed. A movie receiving 88,000 when it's has 3 showings should certainly raise eyebrows.

To me I find it such a shame that the system is abused. It's a great website for movie fans, and unfortunately it's biased towards certain age groups and the genders (eg marvel lover types.) It never will really give accurate, representitive ratings.

It's downright pathetic that IMDB has given hateful bigots power to down vote movies they disagree with.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.
