Release date?

Anyone know when this will be released to the public?

reply

It’s still in development, not much info is available

reply

Hopefully next year.

reply

Well that didn’t happen.

Sounds like the project stalled, anyone know if it’s back on, or is Mick finally cooked?

reply

I doubt it will happen now. It has been eleven years since Wolf Creek 2 and seven years since the TV show and barely any updates in ages or when it is getting filmed.

reply

I just found out there was a Wolf Creek 2.

reply

It’s very good.

reply

Its on tubi, I might have to check it out. Been awhile but the first one was solid.

reply

The sequel is more disgusting and has a much higher budget. It loses some of the docu-realism and patience of the first outing but makes up for it with constant thrills and some horrific brutality from Mick.

I’ve since learned that WC3 is still on, but it won’t be directed by series helmer Greg McLean, some novice female is set to direct which, combined with Jarrat being in his 70’s now, doesn’t bode well.

reply

They haven't even started filming yet... sounds like the project is moving along though. I'd say we won't see this till 2026? I guess a late 2025 release date isn't impossible if they get to work soon.

Creator Greg Mclean is back to reignite the franchise as a producer while John Jarratt, who plays Outback serial-killer Mick Taylor, returns in the lead role. Resident Evil producer Jeremy Bolt is newly aboard, as is Sean Lahiff as director. Lahiff was editor on Wolf Creek 2 so he knows his way around the franchise. Kristian Moliere (The Babadook) and Bianca Martino also produce. Script comes from Duncan Samarasinghe.
