I asked this when they made PP2 and I'll ask again b/c I don't get it..

Why did these movies take off and become so popular? I mean, I liked Fat Amy too (1st one) and the songs aren't terrible but most of the characters (Becca most of all) are unpleasant or unlikable.

I love her too and actually like most of the actors in this but they're such obnoxious millenial ass-holes.

I like most of the characters, likeable or not. I enjoy most of them and am fine seeing them more.

That said, I can understand where you're coming from. This is how I feel about Marvel movies.

I liked the first one, but the second one was a disappointment. Everyone was dumber down even more than they should've been.

I liked the first movie and the songs were enjoyable. Second movie was only alright, some of the songs were still fun, but I don't feel as much invested with the storyline.
