Main character/actor look like a young Leonardo DiCaprio. Anyone else think so?
I bet you're wondering what a place like this is doing in a girl like me-The Mummy

yeah he is pretty charismatic looking forward to watching this movie
shareYes, I think he looks a lot like Leo and I think that he has the potential to have a similar career. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up.
shareWow! Great call!
Whatever you are, be a good one.
I also thought he looked like Leo especially Leo in Shutter Island. In the trailer I saw on TV it showed him (forgot his name) lighting a match in the dark while looking haggard.. The exact thing happens in Shutter Island and is actually the cover of the film.
shareI agree.
The fact that he is essentially a replacement young Leonardo DiCaprio (now that the real Leo is no longer youthful) has probably been enormously helpful for his career I think.
The lead actor may not look like DiCaprio, but he certainly studied the Leonardo's tics, speech patterns and mannerisms. If you've seen the Aviator, Shutter Island or some of his other dramatic roles, then you can pick up on some of the same acting patterns in this movie. Especially the front desk dialogue was delivered the same way that DiCaprio has delivered his lines.
shareDane DeHaan is a far superior actor than DiCaprio... Poor Leo had to change his appearance (in his late twenties) to make him look more masculine...less twinky. Wow, take a walk on the wild side!!
I wonder if DiCaprio would have done a sex scene with say...Tobey Maguire? Don't think so...
Yet, DeHaan and Daniel Radcliffe sure did in "Kill your Darlings" thinking of their art first NOT their so-called public image.
You think DeHaan studied DiCaprio's tics, mannerisms and dialogue delivery? What is there to study? In my opinion "The Aviator" was one of the funniest movies ever made or should I call it the longest SNL skit in history...
Honestly, DeHaan looks nothing like Di Caprio---I don't know where people get that from. He has his own unique look, big strange-looking but beautifully expressive eyes (I like big-eyed dudes anyway) and approach to acting--which is why I noticed him in the first place.
shareI had the same thought. I think it was mainly because the beginning reminded me of Shutter Island. Eerie, slow and ominous
