Hannah...is she...
the same girl from the picture? If so, does she not age? Are the "vitamins" keeping her young? so many questions...

sharei don't think so. Someone said she was barons chld who was thought to have died when tossed into lake as fetus. Guess he picked her up later. Tho didn't he get hanged. and timeline doesnt seem to add up. It happened 200 years ago. and movie was present time. He could have lived that long without ageing with that serum, but she should still age. Maybe she was his grandtougher or something. Anyways too many questions indeed
shareShe is the same girl, yes. The serum gives them both long lives. She seems to age very, very slowly, having been an infant two hundred years ago. The baron wasn't hanged, but burned along with his wife. He survived. That's why he had all those fake faces, why his real face looked like that at the end. I wonder if she'll age normally now that she won't be taking the serum anymore?
shareIf she doesn't age, why was his father waiting her to become "a woman" (to get her period)? Why did he say that she was underdeveloped until 11 years old?
shareMy interpretation was that she does age, just very slowly. I'm not sure about the second part. Maybe because of her violent, traumatic birth? Maybe a side effect of growing up drinking the serum? Couldn't tell you for sure.
shareYou're right, there are a lot of questions, because the movie hopes you won't notice. But it's basically what the other posters in this thread said.
PS: I think we should really start talking and creating discussions on this board so it can take shape into a nice resource like the imdb boards were. Unfortunately, I started posting with this movie, which doesn't really inspire a positive discourse. But, whether negative or positive, a discussion is a discussion, I guess.
I looked at a few other boards, but this one seems to be the closest to Imdb - no comparison really, however. I was on Imdb for what, 11 years or so? And many were on longer than me... Such a shame that all those posts are no longer around.... Stupid decision by a few people at the top - just because they either wouldn't moderate properly or wouldn't ignore the trolls. Destroying a many years old data and community resource because you can't stomach a few trolls (or won't take the trouble to moderate) is so foolish and unfortunate. And they think they won't lose traffic?
Anyway - here I am and here we are. Let's build this back from the ground up.
I was under the impression that they actually kept a large part of the original iMDB board threads when they made this site. Try looking for some old discussions that you remember reading back then, there's a chance they're still here. The usernames of the original posters aren't active (they're not clickable), but the content of the posts are there. I, for one, have found some old threads that I started way back when. That's the reason I kept my username the same when I joined here, although that doesn't have much impact as I wasn't a well known poster back then. But I figured I'd keep the magic going.
shareHmm - thanks!
shareI think that there are a lot of the same users too. I understand now why so many of the posters here hate so many movies. They just don't follow them or understand them enough, so they automatically assume that they're crappy movies, when they're not.
shareI was also on IMDb message boards. Probably not as long as you were, but atleast 5 years or so. I didn’t post as much as I came to find answers to questions, or more info about movies. I’ve been using moviechat.org for about 8 months after searching for an alternative to the message boards. Finally made an account and I’m not disappointed.
From what I found, a lot of message boards were archived and brought to this site. I think this is by far the best “replacement”
Also, just got done watching A Cure For Wellness ;)
She ages super slowly like Wolverine.
shareThat's what I understood, it was the girl from the picture that was aging very slowly due to the syrup. It was mentioned about the eels that they could live longer in that area. In the movie the eels were forced into human bodies by doctors, then through a machine the syrup was collected. I thought this was the creepiest part of the movie :)
shareI think that the girl in the picture was of her mother. She just looked a lot like her and this showed that she was their daughter. The picture looked very old, and the woman in the picture was wearing the locket which we know he only gave to Hannah near the end of the movie.
shareThat was my interpretation. Plus she aged slowly like Wolverine and was just now reaching puberty.
