Why is this show so dark?

Am I the only one who couldn't even watch this show during the day due to the sunlight glare and on a new TV to boot? 99% of the scenes were extremely dark almost to the point that they darkened the lighting on purpose in post.

Your TV set needs a repair.

I noticed this too. Had to turn my laptop brightness all the way up.

I was thinking they were going for a "noir" type of effect.

Watching this on a Samsung JU7100 4K tv using the Samsung/Amazon player, it looked too dark. You couldn't make out faces in many indoor scenes. Then I tried viewing it on a Roku 4 and it was ok. It was still "noirish" but character expressions and actions were much more visible.

Need to do some research on what could be happening with the Samsung application. Maybe an update is available.

I agree. The show is unwatchable sometimes. There was a night scene on a beach in one of the earlier eps and you could not see what was going on.

They need a new DP maybe?

I had to quit "watching" an otherwise interesting show because I couldn't see anything. We have a new TV. Everything else we've ever watched looks excellent. IT IS NOT OUR TV. I think I know and understand what they were going for but they've gone way overboard! I don't know how anyone could think a show in total darkness is a good idea. Even the offices and courtrooms are really dark!
