Although it's possible she was sexually active in the ward, I don't think it's possible that she could've been in a psych ward this whole time. So there must have been a time when she got out, however short.
I think the real question should be: how did she pass on powers she never genetically possessed? Sarah was the only natural witch, with the others' powers stripped in the end of the original film.

Yeah thats what i started thinking, that she got out for a short while and met a guy or had a one night stand, and she got locked back up probably not long after for not being able to function in the outside world the right way. Or perhaps Adam had something to do with her getting locked back up, cause he seemed to know alot about Nancy. Maybe he came to her thinking she still some kind of powers left he could take.

Well she did take in all the power of Manon, her powers was taken or binded at the end of the first movie, but that had to have left something inside her to pass on to an offspring. You can't just take on the power of a god and then go back to be completely normal. Something had to have been left inside her from Manon that she passed on to Lily.
We don't know for sure if all of Nancy's powers was taken or if she was just binded. If her powers was only binded that means her powers was still inside her just she couldn't use them.
I could definitely see Adam potentially having been involved in her re-lock up.
However, as for the possession of Manon's powers leading to Lily's magical genetic inheritance, I don't think that's how it works. From what we learned watching the OG Craft movie, Sarah is a natural witch because her mother was a natural witch. In contrast, Nancy's powers (as well as Bonnie's and Rochelle's) are unnatural - otherwise, what's the difference between natural and unnatural magic? And she wasn't left completely normal - the possession of Manon's power drove her at least temporarily mad (she doesn't seem to be this way anymore). Also, Bonnie and Rochelle were powerless by the end, so it's hard to assume that Nancy wasn't also.
Seems more like Nancy was the fan favourite, which is why they asked her to be part of this film. However, I can't say I wouldn't be intrigued to see the magical children of the other three former leads of the OG Craft - it would have interesting to see them in this film.
