Great Storyline

Both my wife and I enjoyed Collateral Beauty more than we thought we would. It's truly a moving story about mourning and love and friendship. Will Smith brought it to life, with the aid of Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren, Naomie Harris and others. I guess I thought there were several strong performances, with Ed Norton a rather weak exception. Sorry, it's true.

It could clearly have been better, and there were weak moments, but the ending brought tears to my eyes and several people in the theater were wiping their eyes as they were leaving.

Maybe this is a movie that resonates more with people who have kids. Perhaps a reason why some didn't like it is that they couldn't feel a parent's pain.

Don't listen to critics in any case. I mean, why do people need "experts" to think for them?

I give it an 8/10.

I agree about the kids thing. I'm reading a lot of hate against this movie, and that's fine if you just didn't like it, but to be so damn angry? I don't think one could possibly really get this movie unless you've lost a child, or at least have children and can imagine that kind of loss.

Yes, I just saw it tonight and veyr much enjoyed it..and the odd "fake out" angle with two groups united (one to act as death with Helen Mirren as one, and the other, including Kate Winslet, and a few others of the lead
's friends, to act like they don't see the other beside Will Smith.I.E., as if they only see Will and not that young black guy or Helen.
