To be fair, when he accepted the role for Wild Wild West, the script he got was far better than what the movie ended up being. After the movie started filming they ended up changing a bunch of stuff and at that point he couldn't exactly leave the movie.
As for After Earth, yeah I don't know what he was thinking with that.

IDGAF if the script to Wild Wild West was as good on paper as Unforgiven or Tombstone ultimately was (on and off the screen)...it was THE MATRIX.

I personally think Will Smith's best movie was Enemy Of The State,and it's almost 20 years old (From 1998 to be exact).
This movie sounds like more crap like 7 Pounds of crap,and I'd choose death to After Earth.
With After Earth, I think he was trying to return to the glory days where he would take on a sci-fi film and it would score big at the box office. No dice. What a piece of crap. It's got nothing on this though.
