could have been comedy
The behaviour of all characters throughout the movie is ludicrous. The plot to bait Howard with the abstraction-actors and then edit the film to make him look schizo, is pure Rube Goldberg. This should have been an absurd comedy played for laughs, because it's too silly to take seriously.
