Will Smith: Bad Actor or Terrible Actor?

I think he's a good actor overall.

I think he shines when the material is good. Heck, even Fresh Prince itself has some very wonderful poignant moments that highlighted Will's skills as an actor.

On the the other, blockbusters seem to go either way for him. Sometimes he shines sometimes he doesn't. He's not very consistently good in them like other actors, like say, Tom Cruise. That's for sure.

One criticism I have against Will is that he's not always right as the lead. Sometimes he needs to fall back and be a supporting actor to other lead actors / actresses.

Another, is obviously, when he tries to wedge in Jaden Smith into a meaty role. Let's face it, After Earth, was not good and in large part because Will was out of it for half the movie and we're watching Jaden. That's not what got people to buy tickets and into their seats.

Ok but not bad. Not bad like Keanu. What hurts Will Smith, also hurts Tom Hanks. Which is have an annoying dreadful voice

He's passable, but for the last 15 years he's embraced the melodramatic school of acting where he uses second act of a story arc as his character's crutch only to rise above and conquer in the third act with most cheesiest of acting. The only recent movie where I think he defied this trope was in "I am Legend" where his character dies at the end. At least that's the one I remember seeing because I've seen a happier ending posted on Youtube.

He has no talent when it comes to acting. He's been skating by on charisma and charm for a long time, but his act has worn off. I hated it from the start and avoided his movies like the plague and it hasn't led me astray once. All his films are awful. He only does those movies because people with acting chops have better movie offers, and these movies need a draw more than they need actual acting skills in his roles.

But this idiot started equated box office draw to acting talent and has said so many stupid things like demanding oscars for mediocre work, that he's not even a draw anymore. Will Smith is all washed up. It's over and he will never recover.
