Possibly the worst movie I've ever paid to see in a theater.

I'm choosy about the movies I see in theaters. I usually only go to the ones I know I'll like, but I tagged along with a friend who wanted to see this.

I don't take issue with the kind of movie that pulls at the heartstrings and uses "coincidences" to show the connectivity of events and hand of fate. I enjoyed Smith's movie Seven Pounds.

But Collateral Beauty tries so hard to be quirky and meaningful, it ends up being a cliched pathetic pile of poop. The tone is all over the place. I was chuckling at parts that weren't supposed to be funny. It forces sentimentality and fails at its attempt to be smart. There's nothing magical here.

How could such a intriguing cast make such a horrible movie? Great actors are wasted on a ridiculous script.I love Kate Winslet, but Collateral Beauty brought out the worst in her.

One of my many grievances with this film: Unless you have a huge budget and a lot of technology, you can't edit out people and objects from an cell phone video the way they did in their attempt to sabotage Howard. When they explained this was the plan, I thought, there's no way they would try to pull this off--and yet they did.

What an embarrassing cheese-fest.

I haven't seen a movie this bad with this big name cast ever. Gangster Squad maybe?

there's two ways of looking at your main problem: they did have the tech and money because they worked at an agency that had both. otoh, they didn't have to edit anything since the "actors" weren't actors and they could make themselves visible to some people and invisible to others. so will and the PI could see them, but they weren't actually recorded on the iphone and so there was nothing to remove. there are reasons to not like this film, but that isn't really one of them.

Any explanation is dumb. It would be close to impossible to edit out the actors with animate objects (other humans) blocking the view, like on the subway.

If they really were Time, Death, and Love, then that means they revealed themselves to the PI, the video editors, the 3 business partners, etc...Otherwise, the video editors would be like, "There isn't anyone to edit out." Then the partners would be like, "Yes, there are. Oh, wait, you mean they aren't real people and we're delusional, too!?!?" Or maybe they showed themselves to the video editors so the editors would spend hours editing them out just so they wouldn't reveal that they're actually Time, Death, and Love.

It's apparent you weren't paying attention. It's revealed that they were avatars. Even the detective could've been one. You're are also assuming that his friend and colleagues were part of the "editing" process. The "detective" handled everything.

To be fair The PI never interacted with time, death or love. In fact if you look at her face when Howard is talking to them she looks surprised even before he starts yelling and making a scene.

It's the most disgusting film i've seen this year and I see a lot of movies.

Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.

God knows I've had my complaints about "Rogue One"... but THIS movie... dear lord!

Wow. They don't sound like friends to me! They tried to get him fired?! Do they get karmic punishment for their deceit? Are they treated as villains during the movie? Does find out their ploy and reject them at the end?

Before you get off your high horse, try watching Liza Minelli's 1977 New York, New York. Worst movie ever.

I thought it was pretty obvious that they Really didn't exist. The ending kind of proved that.

Amy forced herself onto Whit which gave Whit the idea to bring them in as "actors". All three were there to not only help Howard but to help all four. Brigitte helped Simon with his (death) failing health. Amy helped Whit repair his (love) with his daughter. Riff helped Claire by addressing her baby clock (time) issue which btw she looked shocked that he would know such a thing. Sally (the PI) even looked surprised on a couple occasions when she was filming. And then when she was walking by Howard and Brigitte with (I assume) her son asked who he was talking to. She didn't know (that we know of) anything about Love, Death, or Time.

So they had nothing to edit out when they really weren't there. We just don't know the circumstances. Maybe the person who edited the film was someone on Amy, Bridgett's or Simon's end ending the debate as editing at all. Or maybe the person editing was "one of them". We just don't know.

But the ending pretty much proves (imo) that they were real. Madeleine's story about "Collateral beauty". Brigitte being the one who told her that. And the last scene where he saw all three on the bridge but Madeleine didn't see them. Then you go back and see the coincidences.

As for them actually Being Love, Death, and Time is another question. Angels perhaps?
