Only positive critic review gave Rogue One a negative review

A lot of paid critics are idiots or arts snobs. Consider Charlotte Observer's Lawrence Toppman. He gave this 3/4 and Rogue 1.5/4 (3rd lowest of 60).

‘Collateral Beauty’ goes out on an emotional limb http://www.charlotteobserver.com/entertainment/ent-columns-blogs/lawrence-toppman/article120773393.html

Maybe Lawrence is unimpressed with mindles bombasitic fan-fiction and prefers something with a little more profundity.

"Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man..."

reply

with a little more profundity

and then they would go for "Colateral Beauty"? Makes no sense. This movie is just as bad as every recent Smith movie.

...but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.

Rogue One is entertainment. Collateral Beauty is trying to make you think. This one critic believes it succeeded.

Better?

"Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man..."

reply

it tries, alrighty, but based on some rather mediocre performances and an awfully boring script is fails.

I do enjoy both, movies that make you think and movies which are pure entertainment.
But this one (which I only watched because of Norton and Mirren) was just awful.

Sounds like Vincent hasn't even seen Rogue One

Anyone who finds profundity out of this movie is clearly falling into the marketing gimmick Warner Bros wanted them to fall into. If you think about this movie for any period of time you'll see it is senseless, cruel, and condescending.

Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.

I didn't particularly like "Rogue One" for making so much fuss over what was basically explainable as a minor engineering oversight... among other issues (getting really sick of the 'teenage' children of destiny shtick) but I'd give it about a 7/10.

This... I don't even know what to think. I just know it ain't good. I can't even put enough interest into analyzing it.

Too bad she wasn't a teenager. Yawn.

reply

She looked 'teenage'. She certainly wasn't any Sarah Conner or Ripley.

Hunger Games Syndrome is still epidemic.
