That guy looks like some LARP or reenactment guy who stumbled in from the street. He just swings the blade around without any technique or sense.

This comment doesn't reflect reality at all. Even with weapons beyond Marcaida's focus of interest, it's easy to tell that he is absolutely deadly. In one episode he uses a war hammer's penetration beak and strikes exactly the same spot on a plate of armor thrice. Everyone who's actually handled edged weapons on a level worthy of consideration before knows that an aweful lot of technique and body control is required to deliver numerous consecutive identical strikes.
