I know it's more than just Bill Hader and Fred Armisen producing these, but I'm 4 episodes through this season and it's striking how little of them there is. Fred shows up in episode 4. Haven't seen Bill yet. There's something to make me laugh in every episode so far, but not hysterically. It seems like they have more money to play with (Michael Keaton, Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchette?) but I enjoyed it more when it was Bill and Fred doing characters.
Batshit Valley - good two part episode. I liked the Michael Keaton interview bits. The stuff about the sign "We agreed to be here. Love, The Apples" getting the Shawbardites so mad was funny. And some of the escalating steps like installing speed bumps every 30 feet were funny.
Co-Op: Original Cast Recording - Just so-so. The one thing that I found hilarious was John Mulaney's tortured exhortation to the singer on how she pronounces the word "ruin".
Waiting For The Artist - Took awhile to get going but ended up having some pretty funny parts. Performance art/artists are certainly ripe for skewering. Some of the pieces made me laugh, like The Bucket Series and the one with Dimo sitting at the table eating while she tries over and over to get to the table, only to be snapped back by a bungee cord. And the different takes by arists/critics were spot on. The feminist critic complaining about "a man interrupting a woman's performance" when it was the one nice thing Dimo was shown to have done in the whole episode was to typical.
