$20,000,000 budget... who is fronting the money?

I have heard how terrified Hollywood producers can be when it comes to shelling out their money.

I would have to imagine starting with the Scary Movie movies... Wayans and his team of "Visionaries" showed some goofy colored pie chart, and all of the money his movies have combined to make was enough to get the funding to this.

How is this movie going to make back $20,000,000 that does not include the marketing needed to create the delusion that this is going to make $20,000,000 just to break even?

Do these "Artists" take pride in their work?

somehow, i don't know how, these kind of films must make money, otherwise the market would not get flooded by this crap. maybe some kind of tax trick of the studio or maybe they need to make some losses on occasion for a specific tax return, or maybe there is money to make in licensing it to tv stations, crackle, netflix ...etc.

considering that marlon was in requiem for a dream, my guess would be that he is not. it seems more like a well working scam of some kind.

It must be a typo... it has to be 2 million right....???? lol... I can't believe they spent 20 mill. A haunted house grossed 40 million in total off a 2 million budget which is great. So they had to have figured this was going to out due A haunted house????? what in the world was they thinking. This movie will be lucky to gross 6 million based on Friday's estimate..
