I was a tad disappointed

I usually tend to like everything that the Wayan brothers do, but perhaps its only a winning formula when the entire family is involved. This was a bit of a let down. At times, it felt like it was dragging on and grasping for laughter. Perhaps its the editing or the pacing or perhaps a whole new director is needed like Keenan Ivory Wayans. Who knows!

It just felt like it was missing something.

I'll have to disagree with you here. The movie departs from the usual Wayans' style only to become one of the best, most powerful movies ever made about self-preservation and dignity. It's universal message crosses all boundaries, and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, WyldAngel23, it's impossible in the world we live in to empathize with others, we must always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial, really, and it's beautifully stated in the movie.
