Downey's death
How did Dr. Rhodes pull of ending his life. What did he do? I understood the moment Downey knew what Rhodes was doing, but how did Rhodes do it? He died in such a humane, dignified way.

Pull "off", I meant. Not pull of.
shareI was wondering about this also. He asked for help in ending his life after he was told the outcome of the brain operation. But i never heard the method of ending his life he was asking for. Did he know he was going to have a heart attack or stroke and asked Rhodes to fake a do not resuscitate order?
shareHe didn't do anything. Downey had a DNR. Rhodes just happened to leave Downey's room right before Downey coded. There's a reason "Timing" is the episode title.
shareI think the end just came quicker for him that they expected. I don't think Dr. Rhodes assisted him.
shareHe pulled it off by not having Halstead hanging around his room.
shareIt has something to do with the flowers. Apparently they are poisonous. I've read about it in comments section to this article: http://tvline.com/2016/05/17/chicago-med-recap-season-1-finale-dr-downey-dies/

That was my first thought about the flowers. Dr. Downey wasn't expected to die that quickly but succumbed rapidly after getting the flowers.
"Vulgarity is no substitute for wit".
While he could have poisoned himself with yellow jasmine (Gelsemium sempervirens), that isn't really jasmine. And it looks nothing like the white Hawaiian pikake jasmine (Jasminum sambac) that was strung on the lei, which is not poisonous and is used in tea.
shareI thought so too. I couldn't believe Rhodes wouldn't do anything to help him die sooner and painlessly, after all.
And after what the neurologist said that he would endure, considering his brain tumor, he did have a very quick demise, so I though it had to be the flowers, they had something in them.

good one!
sharePerfect
sharepersonally I don't care if Rhodes ended Downey's life or not or how he did it, the scenes they had together trough out season one were amazing and their season finale's scenes were heartbreaking, between the talent and good looks of Gregg Henry and Collin Donnell appreciate the time they had together on screen and mourn the early loss of this amazing tv duo.
