Halstead out... Rhodes and Choi are the stars,

Who is with me? I wished the powers that be would end Halstead's character and make Rhodes and Choi the stars of this show, as I feel they are already.

:.:.:.:... Whatever you do, do it with kindness ..:.:.:.:

They could get rid of Halstead, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Oliver Platt, IMO. I never watched the original Law & Order, but was Merkerson as bad on that as she is on Med? She is awful. And having Dr. Charles show up every 5 minutes to spill something on his shirt and then psychoanalyze everyone is annoying. I don't feel like any one of them add anything to the show, and often detract from what might be a passably good medical drama.

Alpha predators are very rarely interested in singalongs.

reply

Yes, I agree. It is a shame what they have ended up making Oliver Platt's character be like. And S.Epatha Merkerson isn't in it enough for me to worry about I suppose.
Th whole show has too many characters as it is, but that's Dick Wolf's way of doing a show.

:.:.:.I am sorry I pushed so many of your buttons, I was looking for the mute.:.:.:

reply

I find myself hoping that Burt is waiting around the corner to take S. Epatha out of the picture... by any means necessary. 

I'm glad they took Zanetti out of the picture, and I could happily lose April, which is a shame because she had potential when we first met her. I'm also glad they killed off the "means to an end" Dr Downey, I'm meh at best about Goodwin and Charles, though I get why they're there, as all the leads cannot realistically be in their 30s. Dr Charles's "yoda" qualities are kinda wearing, always turning up to offer sage advice. Halstead is the victim of some very iffy writing - one minute he's after Natalie, the next he's fighting with her, and just when he thinks he can have another chance, in comes the distinct possibility of a love triangle with Jeff Clarke. Bring him back to where we saw him in PD - and for goodness sake tell us why he had to leave New York!

I can understand not every character will be a star in every episode but there are way too many people in this show. They can't all be equally important every week.

I do like Dr. Charles because he seems to be an island of calmness in the frenetic pace of the ER, but then so is Maggie.

Don't care for or understand why the hospital administrator is on scene in the ER so much. Does that happen in real life? All I can think is that she doesn't have enough work or is trying to avoid her husband.

I like the Dr. Halstead character and wish they would get back to his story line and how he came to be there. Now that he has been hired by Chicago Med maybe he will get more episode time and we will find out he is a likeable character.

I really don't get the creepy guy and the student doctor being featured. Lab or pathology people are necessary to be sure but are not part of the main thrust of patient care.

The pathology guy is only there because he's her boyfriend and he's a device used to try to convince her to not to do the ER, but ultimately she'll choose the ER.

She is a great actress to watch, I remember her on the"Gates",not a big role but she did shine. She as with a lot of the cast doesn't get a lot to work with.

It isn't the Halstead character I would rather not have on the show, it is the bad acting and that mop on his head that is suppose to be hair that I wished could change.

:.:.:.I am sorry I pushed so many of your buttons, I was looking for the mute.:.:.:

reply

Yeah, what happened to the "calmer" hair he had when we first met him? I was watching some of the extras, and they showed snippets from the beginning. What a difference!

reply

The show is coming back on real soon here. I have not seen any promos for this season so I am curious what Halstead will look and act like. (Hoping for the best).
:)

reply

I agree! I didn't like the actor on Chicago Fire or Chicago PD either ~ and what's with that hair? Looks like he put his head in the toilet and flushed. A SWIRLY!

reply

HAha hahaha... agreed!
Along with horrible acting.

reply

Anything is better with Oliver Platt in it.

ME! ME! I can't stand Halstead.

reply

Granted, I'm not a big fan of Will either, but if they were going to get rid of anyone, it should be Connor. Can't stand him and last night's ep is a prime example of why. He basically asked Natalie to kill her own patient so that his could live. Will would never have done that. And no it's not a reach. Babies and young children pick up on the social cues around them. As Natalie pointed out, her asking them about organ donation would indicate that she didn't see any hope for the baby and if the parents felt there was no hope, the baby would sense this and wouldn't fight to live.

I don't think more electricity is what this guy really needs. Just throwin' it out there.

reply

oops... I hadn't seen that episode yet... so once I do I will pay attention to Conner's behavior.
:)

reply

Ooops...sorry Kaleecee. Didn't mean to spoil things for you.

No problem. I am about to watch it right now. :)

Enjoy.

Finished epi-1 now and it is still confirmed to me... Halstead needs to go. Conner was okay, not at all like last year when I really liked him.

Thanks for your input!

I'm on season 2 now and all caught up. Don't know about Halstead. Maybe he'll reconcile but there are issues surrounding him with liability and drama with Nat. I don't agree that Dr. Charles should go. I'm also liking Reese with him. I like her in psych better in pathology. She wasn't in the path lab much anyway. She has that doubtfulness of being a young and new doctor but when she is given air time she does have the ability even though questioning and doubting herself.

reply

I've watched this show maybe three times. Every time I think Dr Rhodes is an a-hole. He always comes off like he knows everything and everyone else knows nothing. I do like Choi though.

I really don't care for the character Halstead, though not sure if that is influenced by the actor's lack of ability to make his character likable in any way...or if it's just that he's written to be such an unlikable character. I guess I'll have to see if he gets better...

I love Rhodes. And I like Choi a lot.
