learned a new word tonight

I don't watch this show, but I had it on this channel and I had to rewind to see if I had heard right. The doctor was trying to say diligent, but instead clearly said digilent, totally sounded funny. It was supposed to be an intense scene, too. I think I'll start using that pronunciation from now on.

Sorry to burst your bubble but I'm pretty sure he said 'vigilant'.

reply

nope

Then that would be worse, 'cause then he is reeeeeealy bad at word usage.

How about the previews for next week's episode?

"State department has been APPRAISED,"

I'm sure he meant to say APPRISED, but hey, it made it into the final cut and they went with it. What is probably more disappointing is that with as many edits and filters this dialogue goes through before actually being spoken by the actors, no one ever caught this and more disturbingly, don't know the difference. That's the new norm. If spellchecker didn't catch it, then it must be okay.
