Terrible Name

The name is awful and then all the hairy guys. Probably won't last for many years.

Actually, there isn't any more fitting name considering who and what the show is based on.

Besides, it's an Australian show, and they don't tend to overextend themselves by having overly large filler-packed seasons and lasting for years beyond its prime. That's more of an American thing.

Cleverman is the best English translation of an actual title that was given to members of Aboriginal tribes. Every Aboriginal nation has their own idea as to what constitutes a Cleverman so the creators combined different traditions and attributes to form their own Cleverman for the world they created. The hairy people too are a re-imaging of various Aboriginal myths.
