I didn't like the lead caracter.

I was really excited to see this show as I haven't seen many australian shows in my lifetime. I was not dissapointed with the overall story but the lead caracter, Koen, didn't really do it for me. I just didn't find him exciting enough to be interesten in him finding his path to being cleverman. I kind of whished it would rather be a hairy. Maybe even the brother in the hairy family Koen "helped" in the beginning of the first episode.
Well, I will watch the next episode to see where the caracters are heading.

I don't think you are supposed to like him at this point. I suspect they started him out as a selfish unlikable jerk because they want to contrast it with what he will eventually become. They're doing the same thing with his half-brother, showing him as a socially-conscious do-gooder at first glance but beneath the surface he is a craven bully who doesn't really care about anyone but himself.

yeah, he's annoying..
he's more suited to be in romantic drama i guess with that puppy nose.

I don't like him either, especially after what he did to that hairy family and that little girl. How can he possibly redeem himself after that? She looked right up at him and said thank you. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep watching because I just don't care about him at all.

Yeah, Koen starts out as a selfish d*** who only cares about himself in the beginning, but he eventually earns his redemption. It's a long process, especially since he dosen't really want to be the Cleverman, but that's how it's rolling. Now, with the white reporter/media magnate, I did find it interesting how he seemed to be wanting to help the brothers and the hairies in general at first, but it turns out he had his own agenda all along---that was a twist I didn't see coming.
