Why did they just "retire" him form the films saying he wanted out of the business.

Wouldn't it of been more of a tribute to his character if they had killed him off at the beginning of this one to get some closure?

I just thought saying he had retired was a bit of a cop-out and let him and his family and fans down to not honour him with that in an opening scene at his funeral where they all was paying there respects then got on with the rest of the movie.

Didnt have to show a crash or how he died but could of just started the movie with his funeral with the cast toasting him farewell then get on with the film at least would of been good to give him proper send off not just mention him like they did.

I don't know... it would be like they are TMZ-ing Walker's funeral... trying to squeeze a few dollars of ticket sales out of his death...

I thought about it, and I'm glad they chose this route. I think the main focus is a tribute to Paul Walker, through the character Brian, that he is safe and happy and enjoying life with his family.

That and perhaps one day technology will bring him back again in these movies when we least expect.

Only if they make an animated version. Simply too much work to recreate him, age him appropriately, dub his voice... F7 was full of holes because they had to fill the places he hadn't filmed and adjust it as a tribute.

I agree with this though I have no idea what his family would want.

If they would prefer not to have a fake funeral, then just a simple "it was tragic" in mid-conversation can do. Fans can go to a real funeral or memorial gathering.

Then they can bring the sister back into the plot.
